This one has been a great week on the job. We're deep into a full built-in appliance installation on a custom home in West Des Moines, and it's the kind of project that reminds us why we love this work. Sub-Zero, Wolf, the whole lineup - panel-ready pieces throughout a kitchen that was clearly designed with serious intention.
Panel-ready appliances are a different animal compared to standard installs. Every unit has to sit flush and align perfectly with the surrounding cabinetry. There's no wiggle room - literally. The cabinetry framing, the panel gaps, the reveal lines - they all have to work together. One thing slightly off and it shows. That's why this type of work takes patience and a real eye for detail.
The Wolf range is a centerpiece here. Getting a range like that seated correctly, level, and properly connected is a job on its own. Add in the Sub-Zero refrigeration units, the under-counter wine storage, and a panel-ready dishwasher install, and you're coordinating a lot of moving parts across a single kitchen. We treat each piece individually and make sure it's right before moving to the next.
We're sitting at about 80% complete on this one. The custom wood range hood is already up and looking sharp against the slab backsplash. The bones of this kitchen are coming together exactly the way they should. It's going to be a serious space when it's done.
