When a kitchen is built around a 48-inch Wolf range, the hood above it has to carry its weight - literally and visually. A standard hood would look out of place. So we went with a 54-inch decorative hood to give the range the presence it deserves. The oversized hood-to-range ratio is intentional, and it makes a real difference in how the whole space reads.
This kind of install isn't just about hanging something on a wall. Getting a hood this size level, secure, and centered over a professional-grade range takes planning. The stone backsplash behind it adds another layer of complexity - there's no room for error when you're working around finished surfaces like that. Everything has to line up.
The Wolf range itself is a serious piece of equipment. These units are heavy, the connections matter, and the placement has to be exact before anything else can go in around it. Gas range installation at this level means working methodically and leaving nothing to chance.
What we end up with here is a focal point. The brass trim detail on the hood, the stone slab running floor to ceiling, the stainless Wolf below it - it all works together. That kind of result comes from treating every piece of the install as part of a larger picture, not just individual tasks to check off.
Whether we're working on an active job site mid-construction or stepping into a nearly finished space, the standard stays the same. Details like hood alignment, range positioning, and how everything ties into the surrounding cabinetry - that's where the quality of an install actually shows.
